Default Always something to shoot

Went down to the lease on with hopes of seeing loaded duck ponds, but all we had was a bunch of spoonies. There is a marshy area north of our property that has 3-4,000 ducks on it and no one is hunting. They normally hunt on the weekends, but this year they have not hunted the entire second split. Only the dumbass spoonies and a few teal are leaving during shooting hours.

Off to plan B. Went in search of some doves and hit the mother load. 3 hunters, 45 birds on Saturday and 2 hunters, 30 birds on Sunday. For some reason this year has been a great dove season. If I could only convince the deer hunters on our lease to bird hunt we could keep them moving.

I only hunted ducks Saturday morning with a buddy killing 6 spoonies and 2 teal. My buddy killed a sandhill crane that was huge.
