I remember a post on "that other site" talking about shallow water anchors like the Wang, Stick It, Cajun Anchor, etc. Well last time I was at Big Lake, I bounced my Wang Anchor out of the boat in some rough water. It was a sweet stick, but it costs about $100 shipped to replace the anchor. Of course the bracket is still on my transom.
Well, since I've been stuck over here in Texas, I did some research on solid fiberglass (which is a much better option than PVC and not nearly as loud or heavy as stainless steel). I thought y'all might be interested in my replacement.
8 foot solid fiberglass rod from

Epoxied a PVC T-piece to the end and put a loop of nylon rope on the end. That way you have the option of tying off to it, or putting it through a bracket.
Finally, the busniess end is easily grinded to a point with a belt sander.
