Default 4 Stroke Engine and Gear oils?

Ok Guys ..

Since the weather is ****zzy.. A few questions to pass the time..

I'm running a 250 Yama 4 stroke.. I'm using 7 qt.'s of yam 10-30W oil??
$50 worth.. Change is yearly.

I've read on other forums, (The Hull Truth) others using auto 10-30w synthetics etc. Such as Mobil one.

Also I changed gear lube oil to 75-90W Royal Purple after a couple of yrs owning my Triton, and I have noticed a difference in gas mileage. 3.2-3.6 MPG depending on my RPM, trim angle and Sea state etc. Royal purple is $22 Qt. I use 2 qtr.

I was pondering using Amoil Synthetic Marine gearlube to see if there is any difference? Amoil is about same $$$.

Anyone out there with high-performance big bassboats or offshore boats using any of these "different" oils and lubes?

Of course, my mechanic looked at me like I was crazy when I asked these questions?

How about the new Lucas Synthetic lower oil I'm seeing at Academy?

We getting ready for dive and snap season if anyone likes to spearfish, give me a shout.

Ok Guys !!! Let's hear it.. With this rain; saltwater fishing going to suck for couple of weeks.
