It depends year to year and on water but its usually really good around there. I'd do it. I hunt with a friend right behind booths and we do pretty good.

I would ask why the lease opened up. Most of the time the leases that are good in that area never open up. But if the price is right i'd probably do it just because of the potential that area has

Some people go years without the opportunity to acquire a lease... if you got the connections you might as well hop on board for the right price. no telling how long you will have to wait for a halfway decent place to open up.

If it is Miller property like Sulphite suggested, the property has been switching hands lately. Dude that owns my piece now lives in Chicago, IL and he is a descendant of the Millers. I think they split the property up to where each family member got their own chunk. I had to do a lot of negotiating to get my place back this year for a decent price. And a lot of people in my area weren't happy with prices and acreage minimums so they "claim" they weren't getting back in this year.

Yea there were definitely days where I had to put in extra work but they were there! Went down about a month ago or so and there were still plenty of birds out there. Gonna go back this week or next and see how its looking
