Im in LC for the night and was hoping to get the wife on some redfish in the morning. Anybody fish the area lately and know if they are biting up north?

You can try that spot that i showed you where i catch all of those reds, not sure cause its been for ever since i been fishing but as long as its a outgoing tide you should catch a few, let me know if you hit it, i might make a trip friday.

Yes Indian Bay (a part of prien) is easily fishable and mostly protected. it is accesible by prien lake park docks... also Lake Charles is accessible but you would have to make shift a launching spot from around there as there are no close docks in that area.....and it can get quite rough on certain winds. make sure you have the right lights for yakin at night.

Alot of people launch under the 210 bridge to fish the channel and points of prien by yak in the mornings... not a long haul. very crowded though and alot of boat traffic.

If you are talking about fishing around the camps/ piers that are privately owned, that should be no problem. But respect anytime that the owner is also fishing there.

But if when you say "the Docks" you mean fishing around PPG plant dock..... that is a BIG NO, NO. There is a 500 foot safety zone.

we got started a little late this morning and had to leave early bc of the weather but we did catch a couple of flounder, a speck and a short redfish. This was my wifes first saltwater trip and i think she is starting to get hooked. Ill post some pics after I take some.

Going at night? fish the lights. Careful around the refineries some let you and some dont.
Citgo, westlake styrene, and calcasieu refining (depending on whos working) definantly wont let you.

Good Luck!
