It is a touchy subject but yes I do wear a merkin. I am sensitive about that area, it's an itchy subject if you know what I mean.

I need to find the time to start tying. I need to send my Axiom to tfo to get repaired. Last trip out in the surface drive we were pond hopping and the kid with me lifted the rod and it caught a branch and the branch won instantly!

Man I can tell you I am utterly addicted. It is so tedious that it is fun. I am just nervous I am not going to get the chance to try them out for very long before the oil hits the fan. I am going to start tying some more bass flies so I can hit the Henderson Area as well as the Lake V area.

new and improved shrimp with some Lucas twists. Added a tail and horn (per fishinpox's request) and legs and antenna. This one is much better in my opinion but i am biased.

If you want to have a blast, take a couple of those shrimp and find you some lights to fish under. The trout will tear it up .

Went this morning to the local pond to try out my new flies. Caught a few bass and this slab sac-a-lait on my popper. I also caught some bream on this bee fly I tied last night.

If you have patience and a steady hand they don't seem to be too hard. The shrimp is definitely the hardest one I have tied so far. The biggest problem is getting all the parts together without messing them up as you go. You are working in an inch and a half of room so things can get tight. I have only been doing this a week so if that tells you how hard it is then so be it. I am addicted so I have been spending an hour or so every evening tying as many as I can.

Default flies

I saw that the RSFF group is hosting an intermidiate and a begginers fly tying class this coming week at the orvis shop in B.R.
The paper said that vise and tools are required and materials will be provided.

Here are a few more patterns I did last night and a few this afternoon. I really like the way the crawfish came out.
