V Bay 7-26
After making it to dry reef in the dark and the waves, did a quick sanity check and formulated plan B, west side of marsh island. After arriving at the worm with 30 min til sunrise, we skirted the island and stopped at the mouth of bayou blanc. fished but caught nothing, threw the cast net and caught a dozen mullet. jumped to south point, gafftop and croakers. then East oyster bayou, 6"-10" specs and whities. Headed back up Bayou Blanc to check some holes and noticed boats posted up on all the drains. Went an found an unoccupied one and put shrimp and cut mullet on the bottom. Ended up with 8 nice reds, 1 spec and almost a dozen nice croaker. Looked like there was a big red run on the west side of the island. the worm was packed. |

Sometimes when heading south towards the island I might tell my buddy "go a little more west" then he turns toward the pass and I say no go left! LOL Something about west always on my left when facing marsh island. DUH. My brain just locks up sometimes. that's probably what he did there.
