Default Bayou teche near berwick

I'd like to fish the bayou and I'm looking for a launch near Patterson/berwick. I would be coming from Lafayette if that matters. Thanks

I believe there is one right at the locks in Berwick......
That place is really beautiful to fish.
Used to catch Kentucky bass in there.

Really.. I've been wanting to fish it but never got around to it. How is the bass fishing in there this time of the year?

I would imagine it's tough right now, but I really can't remember.
Year's ago we fished it in the spring with top waters.

Right at the locks of course for the moving water and then look for drains.

The water would get a beautiful green color almost like Venice

Two launches in that area. One is in Patterson the other is at the end of Two Sisters Road in Berwick. The one in Berwick is a private lauch and cost more to launch the one in Patterson is a Public lauch and cheaper. I think the fishing in the Bayou Teche is better this time of the year because of less boat traffic. During the summer it gets pretty busy. Good Luck.

Im kinda like montauk, used to fish it alot before saltwater days. fished mostly plastics. We used to tear em up almost everytime out, until the grassbeds went away. There used to be lots of grass beds, then it went a lil while till I got to go again, and the next time out, there was hardly any grassbeds. Not sure if they poisoned em or not. Since then I got into saltwater, and have only been back a couple of times in the past 3 or 4 years. Its a nice place to fish cuz its very wide and pretty deep in the center, some places 30'. Ive talked to guys that would catch stripers around the big bridge pilings. Used to see lots of spoonbill cats hit the surface of the water too. Ive caught some nice slab sacalait out there too. Sounds kinda like Im talking myself back into going out there again sometime soon hugh?
