Falcon got some monsters....I doubt it will be as good as when Paul elias broke the heavyweight record though.

Bob - well how did you do today?
Jim - Terrible... I only caught 5 fish that weighed over 5 lbs
Bob - I hauled in two 7lbers, two 8's, and a 12!!!

No lie when you are fishing falcon you treat 4-5 lbers like they are 12 inches long you catch so many! My first day on the water at falcon I didn't know what to think when my first cast I caught a 6.5lber. The fishing has slowed down over the past few years but it is still like nothing I have ever experienced else where.

I go a couple of times a year. If you so not have a least one fish better than 8 a day you had a bad day. I have had a 5 fish 45 lb day. We have also had 50 fish between 3 and 5 lbs. The place is awsome stillbut is way down from its prime.

Looks like some of them are flipping the trees. That's my favorite thing to do down there. 80lb braid on a heavy rod and get with it!!

Never fished Falcon, but I have fished Choke Canyon before. From what I hear they are comparable fisheries. Always heard how Falcon wasn't safe due to the cartels. Is it still iffy around there???

We just stay on Texas side now. It kinda sucks because some of the better fishing is on Mexico side IMO

They have gun boats patrolling now. It's safe. I just wouldn't go too deep on Mexican side.

That's good to know. I have always wanted to go all the way to Zapata but we always would stop in at Choke Canyon. Great fishing there also but I here the traffic there has increased now that people are finding out about it....
