Default Boat insurance for custom boat.

I just recently had Sportsman Fabrication build me a alum. hull. I am trying to get insurance on it. I had Progessive issue me a policy last week, now they have sent me a cancellation letter because it has a Louisiana issued VIN. Anyone have a Sportsman Fab., Hanko or Scully that they would share who would be a insurer for my boat? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have a custom aluminum boat and my insurance is through Progressive. I got the policy thru a local agent though.

I'm going to call my agent in Gonzales tomorrow, who sells Progressive. Maybe they will insure it that way. Will let you know what they say. What does Raymond sell? I'm new to the site so will have to try and figure out how to contact him. Thanks for the help.

He works with Lyons Ins. which is a site sponsor so, you should be able to look them up on the sponsor tab at the top of your screen.

Go to State Farm. All u need is Vin on hull, motor, and trailer(maybe just trailer model) and cost of each. They'll insure it for u no problem. I even had to file a claim a few months back. No issues and no increase in rates afterwards

Thanks for the referral fellas!
I can write it through 4-5 different marine carriers with declared value or actual cash value, it's your choice. SF will probably not write if they dont have another piece of business (car, house).
