The biggest reason suzuki has more "pep" is the gear ratio in the lower unit. Yammy has 1.86 gears suzuki has 2.50 gears.....this is a huge factor when it comes to low to mid range performance. The yamaha with the right prop should be faster, but the suzuki will have better holeshot and midrange speeds.

Would weight not play a factor in this? With the 200 being a v6 it is signifcantly heavier than the v4 175. That in itself almost negates the 25hp.

Not to mention the much larger price tag of the f200 and the extra fuel economy of the 175.

The 200 is a straight 4 actually but it does weigh more.

I have a 250 Suzuki on my 24 triton and Pox has a 250 yammy on his. My boat is faster...

With my 2 pennies

Id say btw 40-45 and the gas milage would be about 4 4.5 r less bc of the weight. The 200 sho is 505lbs thats alot of weight on the back of the frontier.

The suz 175 is 474lbs and getting 4.5-8 crusing

In my opinion, the 175 Suzuki is the perfect match for the 2104 Frontier when considering price, speed, fuel efficiency, weight all in one. If you have a need for speed then go with the 200 SHO, this motor is very strong but also a good chunk of change more.
