Post up a pic of your unit mounted on the ram just like it would be when you go out.

I like the way it looks clean. On mine ill have to mount the transducer wire to the TM so that wire will be harder to hide. I just wish I could link two Lowrance Elite units to one transducer but I don't think its possible.

The problem I'm having is, when it is up at an angle toward me and I'm running it starts to fall slowly. Until the arm is down.

The position mine is in on the bow puts the unit with the support facing near vertical, it being horizontal like yours would probably be very hard to maintain position without some serious torque on the tightening hardware.

Why not a regular mount on your console?

Idk why I wanted a ram mount. But I'm considering mounting it the regular way now. Since I'm getting a unit for the bow, I will take that ram mount of and mount the unit staight to the console.

I'm going to read some of the reviews about this swivel mount. It's $29 not bad

I got a Ram mount for my Elite 5 DSI for Christmas and I plan on using that for the unit up front. Im going to buy a larger Elite unit for the helm.

Yea I wouldn't want the ram mount for the helm. I like the factory mount of the flush mount. The only thing about the flush mount that bothers me is that if you ever have to replace the unit, you better hope that Lowrance makes one the same size. If not then you either have to make a bigger hole or make some ugly plate to partially cover the hole.

Here is mine that I mounted last weekend. I was also tired of stepping down to look at console unit. Picked this one up from a fellow Salty Cajun.
I also used a RAM mount for the mount. I also could not fish wiring from the bow to console fuse box so I ran it to the main battery with a fuse link. Anything I looked up on the web said that was the way to go anyway. This pic was from when I was deciding where to drill. (I hate drilling in my boat). Wanted to make sure that is where I wanted it. Minimum 16 gauge wire. Ran the power wire down one of the empty screw holes in the RAM base.

My tm is 24 volt ipilot. I'll have to drill a hole and run a wire. If my trolling motor plug plate is big enough I'll drill a hole in that to keep it neat. Or I'll drill a small hole directly behind it. Bc I'll be mounting the bracket on the for space in right in front the anchor locker .uploadfromtaptalk1423613212943.jpg

Thanks and a RAM style mount is the only way to go on the bow.
so much more viewing angle adjustability for sun glare, multiple people on front deck. ,etc.
