Default Holly Beach

Anybody know the conditions there as far as the seaweed goes? It's been about a month since I was last down there and the seaweed was thick then. Wanted to get out and do some surf fishing this weekend so I appreciate any information I can get.

Thanks

Haha yes it will, it always does. Worse case I will just fish around the Lake Charles area the saltwater seems to have pushed in pretty far. Caught a few specs and a gafftop over in Westlake this past weekend.

How did the water look?

Was it muddy or clear? If muddy, could you see any clear water out a ways?

Wind was coming from the north a couple hours ago here at the house.

I saw south winds coming in with the rains the next few days then a slight north wind Friday and Saturday. Could be good fishing Saturday or Sunday if that is true.

I'd assume you can still drive on it since there's not much parking and I've seen plenty people set up a tent

Default People fishing.. nothing hitting

I went yesterday with the family.. Didn't pack any poles, but met some guys with some fishing off the beach. Watched them for hours.. nothing was hitting on cutbait or live. Dolphins came in at about 4pm.. pretty close to the beach to.. Water is normal, muddy.. clear only about 1' (maybe).. seaweed, some. Not the best beach to be fishing on with a day in the 80s! Lake was a better choice.. lol
