Default Evinrude e-tech opinions

Have a fair amount of experience with Mercury and Yamaha outboards but am now considering a new Evinrude. Does anyone have any opinions or experience with a 40hp Evinrude e-tech tiller. What about vs the competition.

The small 2 strokes are the way to go with aluminum boats in the marshes.
They will get up on plane a lot faster than the smaller 4 strokes.

I've been told the e-tec 40 is slow. Never ran one myself, but I have a lot of confidence in the guy who told me that.

if your fishin marsh just get 2 stroke.. every body always bragged about the lil etecs, but in the Marsh a 2 stroke puts it down

The e-tec 25 is a lot stronger than the yamaha two-cylinder two-stroke.

Heard lots of good things about the etec. Good holeshot, quiet, good on gas. Doesnt smoke like a 2 stroke. Plus no maintenance for 300 hours.

The dealer here in Lch said the Etec 25's are the fa-chiz, but the 40's were not...

He recommened the Hatsu for the 40 hp range...

I am in the same market, and have not made my decision yet...

Thanks,
Hydro

The 40 tohatsu tldi is a proven motor. Six guys I work with have that motor. If you buy it from Lake Area Marine they will pull the restrictor out of the intake so you have a 50 with 40 stickers and a warranty.

The last guy at work that bought one paid 5 grand with a stainless prop and tax. That was within the last six months.
