Default Rockefeller

Anyone know if either launch at Rockefeller Refuge is finally open? Been hearing dates that it was supposed to open, but then learned it didn't happen. Any info would be appreciated.

Went to Mermentau on the 4th and both launches were still closed then. Didn't look like they were anywhere close to finishing either

Default Rock

Went this weekend to my camp in GC. Both launchesto the Rock are still closed--I think they have some "fishy" business going on with this situation.

The project at East Side was supposed to be completed on June 1st, but they've pushed it till between August and September. For West Side (Joesph Harbor) is supposed to re-open same time as East Side after all project is done. They take tooooo slow and looonnggg since several months.

Passed by on Sunday and they weren't close to being finished, but it looks like the final product will be a great improvement.

due to funding they have slowed down. until funding comes back around they will pick up on it and im thinking its gonna be much better than what we all have been seeing the last many years before. so im looking forward to seeing a brand new area there. was told its a high chance it wud be open up in late august to early sept. not good news...

Sad Rock

I have a feeling the east side launch is done. They surely have had enough time to be finished. That being said, I don't know if they have to put more limestone on the road, if they are afraid that they open just one side and too many people will be there without enough parking to warrant opening it up to the public. Just dissapointed we are being kept in the dark about the whole situation.

A guy I work with launched at rollover and crossed the gulf to get there. Caught 25 pounds of shrimp in two cast. They also limited out on flounder and a few reds and trout.

how far of a run is that. Seems kinda far for 25 lbs of shirmp, but if the crabs and fish are there could be a good trip.

I think it's about between 15 and 18 miles run on one way each. But, I could be wrong. Certainly it's a long run to get there from Rolloever.
