Reds Are Running On The DU!
On Monday, 9/3/12 I was doubting myself as to whether I should run my charter trip as I was concerned it was too soon after Isaac. I knew the waters were really churned up but after speaking with Sid Carroll we decided to give it a try. Mr Sid brought his lovely wife Robin and we got an early start from the lodge. The water was terrible as I've only seen Dularge this bad a few times in fishing the area for 35 plus years. After trying 3 different locations with only 3 reds in the box it was looking grim. At our last stop we found what we were looking for with hungry reds eating up like no tomorrow on the rising tide. My son Chris also joined us for our adventure and the trio started filling the big igloo. In about an hour it was full and the damage was done! Beautiful bronzebacks averaging anywhere between 16-28in.!! The reds were feeding hard with their blue tails glowing and just about every fish had bulging bellies. Robin had a great time fighting the reds as she could not believe how hard they fight. The couple from New Roads, La. had a great time doing the DU! No place like Dularge and Terrebonne Parish to catch fish. Good luck fishing. Capt Bill Lake 985-851-6015 985-637-3712 |
