Default The fish are getting frisky.

V Bay is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get. It had been a couple of weeks since I fished out there. The water everywhere looked pretty bad on my last trip so I decided to roll solo.

Put in at ICY in the dark and headed to a spot on the North end of the bay hoping to find some decent water that was moving. Tide was slack and water was murky. Didn't get a bite. It was light enough by then to go looking for some decent water. Found some with out too much trouble. From what I saw, the water in general was decent. Not great, not bad, good for the bay. Started fishing and found them with out so much trouble. They were hungry. Didn't have a throw back and left them biting.

I even managed to keep my cloths on. There where a few boats in the area I didn't get crowed at all. Beautiful day and the fish were biting. I knew when I saw the Saltwater Forecast on the news was Poor that I should go. Forecast are an excuse for people that don't wanna fish. One of the best trips I have had anywhere for a while. I think its about to be on like Donky Kong.

Had my camera rolling. heres the video.

It's addictive. I haven't really been messing with topwater fishing all that long and sometimes I catch myself not trying other baits. Learning the right time to throw a top water is the hardest thing about fishing them. Another thing its done for me is help me to locate fish I otherwise would have never known existed. I get blow ups in places I least expect a fish to be. I was just trying to find out where they were hanging out but they kept eating it. That's never happened before.

Agreed !

Newbie to TW here as well. I've only had the opportunity to catch a few fish doing so. Nothing close to what you hauled in and I'm still hooked !
That video fouled me up ... makes me want to throw TW non stop till I get a better handle on it.

Thats really what you need to do. Commit a morning to throwing tops only. Id rather catch 10 on top than 25 any other way

Great vid, great catch! and thanks for posting your excellent report on VB! You gonna have a 1,000 more boats out there this weekend with your report but I feel you know areas that won't be crowded like the cove and trash pile.
