Default BL Sunday / Monday

Got on the water Sunday afternoon around 3:30. All that crazy weather had things churned up. Wind, straight out of the west. Was just kind of cruising around looking for something good. Saw a couple of birds acting like they wanted to pick. One thing led to another and I got on a pretty good bite. A couple of hours later, I had a limit. Lil jons.

Monday morning I figured I'd go back to that general area and lay the hammer down on them. Well, that wasn't to be. After two or three hours of jumping around trying to establish a pattern, I had only two fish in the box. Before making a long run, I decided to try a little reef that I haven't really ever caught more than one or two fish off of. Set up my drift and decided to throw a mirrodine. Got nailed on the first cast. Power pole down and thirteen fish right there in one little spot. Love that mirrodine bite. Like to pull the rod out of your hand!! Limit of solid ones. This is a pic of all thirty fish.

Thanks guys.

Sorry for the giant pics. Not sure how to fix that. It must be the new Tapatalk update. I hate it!!! Fricking advertisements, now.

East side or west side of big lake? How's the fishing been out of Herbert's landing?

As of Monday, the lake had experienced a few days of west winds. The East side of the lake was very muddy. I didn't even try the east side. But, one cool thing about Big Lake is that it only takes a day or so of calm weather for the water to start looking good again. At least in the protected areas.
