Default Foam Flotation

Thinking of getting a custom aluminum boat. Is the foam flotation necessary? Thanks for the input.

Nope. Displacement makes a boat float, not foam.......unless you plan on cutting it in half like a Boston whaler

it adds a little weight and quiets the ride and hull slap. also flotation if the worst would happen. its worth it imo

A boat builder would be be your best bet. Your going to have to drill holes to pour the foam in if it's false floor hull then either weld or put some sort of deck hatch to cover the hole.

If you happen to sink it, foam should allow you to recover your boat!
