Default Mermentau tournament results.

Sorry it took so long to post but I did not want to give misinformation.

1st place stringer was 3.84 lbs.
2nd place stringer was 2.87 lbs.
3rd place stringer was 2.84 lbs.

These numbers I am not 100% sure are correct. They are the best our weigh master could give me.

These numbers I am 100% sure of.

There were only 8 boats that showed up to support or vets on Saturday, and my sincerest thanks go out to everyone of you.

Our small tournament sold 60 hamburgers and 73 assorted drinks.

Between tournament entries and sponsorship we raised $1,079.00 for our vets. We also donated all the burgers, hotdogs and drinks that were left over to the veterans home.

This will be used to feed our vets and volunteers for the V/A fishing tournament in October. The Money raised will also fully fund there entire tournament and leave a few extra dollars in next years fund.

I must admit I was down hearted Saturday morning when the rain started and the boats quit pulling in. After speaking to the activities directed today and hearing how much the few folks that did show up helped our vets out. I realized its not the quantity of people that are involved but the quality.

Tournament sponsors include:

Butch Laforge; Gulf Coast Autoplex
Blaine Boudreaux; The Bank;
Sonny Lyons; Piggly Wiggly
Gerald Link; Lake Area Marine
Robert Hanks; Jeff Davis Chiropractic
John Joubert; Jeff Davis Veterinary Clinic
Nathan Fontenot; Fontenot Family Dentistry
Richard Robertson; Griffith Lumber Co.
John Marceaux; Marceauxs Clothing
And all our vets who donated arts and crafts at the weigh in table.

There were also sponsors from the Lafayette are which Derrik will post recognition for later. As well as a few more who chose to remain anonymous.

Thanks again for all who attended, donated, and helped out.

A very special Thanks to Ranger Go Getter. Without his help none of this would have been possible. Thanks again Derrik.

Due to constant questioning and popular demand, We will be hosting another tournament in March. This will also be an annual tournament for our vets and will be held in March for now on. Tournament date, rules and regs will be typed up and posted in the near future.

Thanks again guys for showing up to support our vets.
