That's it, Mr. Gerald. The guides in Venice and Dularge use them, also. I never have but I got a crap load of 'em.

Maybe that's why you've never caught anything on 'em.

They work great for us around Houma, never tried em' in Big Lake, sand eels seem hard to beat around there.

I, for one, do not buy into the thought that lures work in one area of the coast and do not in others. If Bayou Chubs work great in the Dularge/Cocodrie area, it does not mean that Norton Eels won't. And, if Nortons seem to be the bait of choice on Big Lake, Chubs will consistently catch fish there, also. These trout are not programmed like robots to hit a certain bait in a certain area. During my only trip to Big Lake, my buddy and myself threw nothing but Bombers for 2 days and caught big trout. Our guide had never seen a Long "A" and, there's a good chance, that the fish hadn't either.

I don't buy into it either Salty, I personally have done the best on Bayou Chubs where I fish (Cocodrie/Dularge) and the few times I've fished Big lake we've caught on Sand Eels. But, I'll admit, I've never thrown a chub in Big Lake. I agree with you though, fish are fish, where ever you go. I wasn't trying to say they wouldn't work over there or down talk em'.

SH, I am not advocating Bayou Chubs. I've never thrown one...except in my pool. I only used it as an example. I believe that the reason that certain lures seem to work on certain estuaries is because people throw what they have confidence in. If you don't, you will not throw it much. On the other hand, you have to throw a bait in order to gain confidence.

i think that certain lures do work better than other or different bodies of water, best colors for sure differ, i know this for a fact.

take bass for example, certain lures for certain lakes/marshes
