Chemistry is an essential high school science course for most students hoping to attend college. It is essential preparation for all college majors in science, engineering, medicine, and nursing. It also fulfills all or part of the admission requirement of many colleges have for 2-4 years of laboratory science and at least one year of physical science. Further, it provides valuable preparation and is likely to increase scores on standardized tests such as the math and science portions of the ACT.
