Default Nucanoe-Duck Blind w/ Pics

alright, I finally got time to get make my layout blind for my nucanoe. I didn't like how low the blind was that nucanoe made and I hated the pattern on it. I did some research on blinds for the yak and the tension system seemed to be my best bet. All I have to do is unbuckle 4 buckles and pull it off. Nice and easy.

For the frame I used galvanized rods from hurricane fences, 550 paracord, and quick release buckles.

I made a home made layout chair, (crappy carpenter work), and plan to re do it with padding for a head rest and seat cushion.

The camo is cordura max-4 covers the whole boat. I also bought some layout blind smart weed to dress it up, i'll add natural vegetation to it when I hunt the marshes or flooded river bottoms.

Its secured with elastic rope I bought from the backpacker all the way around the bottom of it as well as some velcro pads stuck to the boat and the fabric.

finished product:

If it weren't for my grandmother (who is a saint) I would have been lost with the cover. She sewed everything and added a hem around the bottom and put elastic parachute cord all the way around it.

can't wait to creep some ducks this season...10 days, 3 hours, and some change for me.

How far do you have to go to get to you hunting spot. Paddling or putting a trolling motor on that rig?

Depends, I have a wood duck hole that I have to paddle about 300 yards up a creek to get to and I'll paddle that. When I'm going farther I'll slap my mini Kota on the transom on the back and roll. The whole set up will lay flat by releasing two buckles, so paddling isn't an issue.
