Default Lake Martin 3-17-2012

Fished lake martin from 10am till 4pm in my podnas kayak today. Wind was light when I got there but picked up around noon. Fished the south side by the pump. Caught 5 sacalait and 6 chickapin on black n troose tube jigs injected with power nibbles foot under a cork. Sacalait were caught in or next to lilly mats, chinks in the cypress. Watched a boat smoke the chinks on cold worms, should have brought some. Water has rose alot with the recent rains, the bayou on the other side the levy is swollen almost to the top. Gave the fish to a old man fishing off the bank,he was very grateful. Kayak fishing is very cool being that close to the water, need to get one of my own soon.

Don't get hooked on that kayak thing, you gonna miss spending all that money on gas & oil.

I heard dat.....wish the hobie's were not so damn expensive. I can see how much nicer it would be peddling instead of paddling while fishing.
