Default New Iberia World Championship Gumbo Cookoff
Hey guys,

I know there has been a lot of chatter about gumbo's and cook-offs and want to let you know that the New Iberia World Championship Gumbo Cookoff is this weekend Oct. 11-12. The 12th is actual day for judging.

I HIGHLY recommend getting there at 6am and enjoy the smell of over 100 roux's getting fired up at one time.

I unfortunately can not make it due to golf tournament obligation in Lake Charles.

If you go, let me know what you think is best on here. They have some good ones and some .....well.....not so good! But it is a good fun family event.

Went to the Cookoff back in 2002 and you could smell the roux blocks away....got there about 630 am had a great time.

Cooked with iberia rod an gun club again this yr! We didn't win but it was a hell of a good time. Lots of people Saturday an Sunday as usuall! Only heard about maybe two roux fatalities lol good time!

Saw a guy who I've competed against before (and beat) was one of the finalist. Wish I would of know sooner. Is anyone gonna be at bruley's wild game cook off in Lydia on the 25th? I'll be in the jambalaya and seafood divisions for it.
