clearing a lot

Any of you guys familier with clearing a lot and doing dirt work? I am about to start clearing my lot, what should the price be for clearing 1 acre? It has mostly pines that need to go. Keeping all the hardwoods.

Just started digging a pond and building a house pad today. I'm not sure about prices for clearing trees out though. If they some good sizes, somebody may cut them down for you if they get to keep the wood.

some may pay you to keep the pines depending on the quality

They vary, some are huge old pines others are are your regular 12" pines. Who shoudl I call? Local timber companys I assume.

Call a tree company they can put you in contact w someone who will want the wood . If you plan on building on the land i sugest getting a compaction test done priop to form and pouring a slab! I just watched a 700k home sink into the ground along with a 80k dollar pool!!! All because they didnt do a compaction test !!! Especially if you are building the home yourself w/o a contractor buiders risk ins. Will only cover so much

Thanks for the heads up. I have a GC for the building but will be involved and make sure a compaction test is done.

In live south of Lafayette and we have to do a compaction test on a house pad every 4 to 6" but yes that is a good ideal a home is a big investment
