Default how much $$??

I am in the beginning stages of building my home. How much should I expect to be charged by a GC per sq ft to build?

I'm in the process of building a house in Delcambre (30 min south of Lafayette) and I'm paying right at $86/sq ft.

I already own the lot. Not sure how much that would reduce the per sq.

The price I'm giving you is for the house only, I already paid the lot. 1566 sq ft, 3 BR, 2 BA w/ an office. Exterior is siding with ar****ectural shingles. Tile, laminate and carpet on the floors. 9 ft ceilings throughout the house w/ cathedral ceiling in the living room. House is on a slab so that reduces the cost a little bit, it also doesn't have a carport, just a parking slab that I'll be putting a metal cover over.

Just from the outside is one of the reasons for being at $100 or more.......several different roof lines......that's alot of work.

Same if you buy them yourself in stead of thru a contractor.
If you are contracting it yourself, talk with the local lumber yards and you can work out a deal with them on everything. No so with the national branded lumber yards.
