[SIZE=2][SIZE=2]LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Officials with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service tell us that they have been forced to close the Hog Island Gully Recreation Center at the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge.
Diane Borden-Billiot with the agency says the closure is due to a recent "trashing" of the area, with debris and dead fish causing a possible health issue.
The recreation center is closed for the weekend and could remain closed longer.
Seven News is investigating the situation and will have more later today on later editions of 7 News and at Kplctv.com.

This was on the local news tonight.

Pictures really showed lots and lots of trash and dead bait on the docks. I am glad they closed it.

I wonder how many tickets were given out?

I wish game wardens would have been check shrimpers back behind Grand Bayou last week when I was there.

My sister and nephew tore the shrimp up over there last weekend.
She said they were moving all day long. Lots of shrimp at the blue crab place too.
