Default Catching crabs

Anyone been catching crabs around Hackberry or Cameron location? Have some chicks at work wanting to go after this rain.... I have no clue about how this weather will affect the crabs nor do I know any places to go. Not looking for places... just wanna know if any areas have been producing and whether or not they should even try after all of this rain. They will prolly be on foot not on boat. thanks

If you're going on land I am of no help, if you have a boat just go behind the weirs and you will catch plenty of big ones to eat. Don't have a boat, then post pics of said chicks and we can discuss options.

hog island or any place down 27 would not be affected to bad by fresh water

Ive been in that area a lot lately and the crabbing has sucked at hog island.Which dont make much sense to me looks like a good area but even with huge drop nets thrown way out in the middle in the current i havnt caught more than a dozen in one trip.I'd say try price lake road in rockafeller with a good tide.
