Default Scouting

Did some scouting this weekend since the rain kept me out of the deer stand during prime time on Saturday. Put the rain coat on and did some walking. Found some great signs in some places that I dont hunt but will prob be locking something on. The deer that did this must have been pretty pissed off. Got me pumped when I found this though. Love looking at all the pics that everyone else posts so just posting some of my own.

Weather was terrible all weekend, but the deer loved it for some reason and were moving like crazy. Was only able to make two hunts and saw 11 deer total and 9 turkeys. Most I have ever seen in one weekend. Took a doe on Saturday evening...meet in the freezer!

Rained all morning till about 1pm Saturday, wind blew like all hell Sat evening but they still moved. Saw a couple & shots everywhere from 4:45 till dark. Starting to find lots of sign, their starting to get ready! Found 8 trees hooked in one area like the one pictured. Gonna have my azz parked in there for the next couple of weeks. We had a big 8 pt killed yesterday (Sat) evening pushing does gonna score in the mid 130's, so it won't be long before it bust wide open!

Evin.....great pictures.

What part of the state do you hunt?

Here is a picture taken a few week ago in the Atchafalaya Basin. The water must have come up some? But from looking at the "grass" in the water.....the Deer were still using this trail.

Gerald, I hunt in Desoto Parish on private land. We scouted in rain on Saturday morning and found more rubs than I have ever seen in one day. There must have been over a dozen rubs within about 100 feet of this one. Finished the scouting by putting a lock on near this rub...hopefully it will pay off.

The bad weather had the woods alive this past weekend.
