Quitting time
Does anyone else subscribe to this theory? It's his place so I abide by his wishes limit or no limit but I think that he is being over cautious. There are lots of gray ducks and pintails that fly by his blind from 9-11 AM. I would have no problem quitting by 11 or even 10 but 8 seems too early to me. |

Sorry but that is stupid. Your hunting migratory bird. They're not going to be here long, shoot them while you can.

Time
In the opinion of an old hunter of rice fields, myself, I think you're safe with noon. The ducks on a normal day come in at night to eat. The WORST time to hunt is late afternoon if you don't want to screw up your place. Let the other places hunt; they'll push em to you. Happened to me many times.

Not unusual for me to get out the duck blind at 9 or 10 then hunt geese on another field till 1. I find the geese work bettere then anyway.

I find the birds in the marshes we hunt work far better late in the morning about 9-noon. Especially on a sunny day.

If it is just one blind in the area it wouldn't hurt but not everyday. We hunt 6 blinds in our marsh every day so we stop hunting at 9:30. Too much pressure you wont hold any birds so they wont come to rest there. We hold a lot of birds so more keep coming. You can go back out after lunch to fix up the blind and ducks will be every where.
