Bring your best fish to to the scales and see if it holds up to the end. Remember, 8oz is added for a LIVE trout so make sure you don't diddle around if you catch one over 5#'s.

Is that live released? Or just live at time of weigh?

Bonus is given when the weighmaster calls it on the scales, after that it doesn't matter. We want every fish to swim off but that is not the reality of any tournament so I will not try to sugar coat it. We do however have a pretty good success rate at reviving and releasing trout to fight again. Personally, If I caught anything over 51/2 it would be headed to the Pernt in order to get the extra 8oz. The trip from the south end of the lake alone is enough to kill a big fish that has been stressed from a fight and hot live well water.
