Default "Outfoxed" pics

Some of you guys have been following the face lift project I am doing on my buddy's boat. Well, yesterday I installed graphics and I am almost ready to paint the lower units. After that, the black T-top canvas will be installed, and we need some calm days to get this thing out and put some blood in it! I also plan on removing the trim tabs and powder coat them black also, just like the outriggers I had done. You may be able to see in the pic, one of the 2 gaffs I had powder coated red, which I then spent all afternoon Sunday wrapping with black tarred string (I have never made so many "half hitches" in my life!) but the handle of the gaff came out awesome. While rerigging the outriggers, I went back w/ new line clips, and I even found some red bungee cord sold by the foot at West Marine to make new snubber lines.

Enjoy the pics, and let me know what you guys think.

When you have an open check book to do it right, things come together. Right now, total package has a little over $53K in it.

Yeah, that "budget isn't an issue" deal sure helps! Save a lot of time and often double work. I notice in restorations we do, people have a tendancy to want to cut corners, often times. I try to explain to them that those corners cut typically cost more than just doing it right the first time.

Y'all doin a great job on it!

Shipyard was $4600 for bottom paint, paint of urethane stripe, and complete fiberglass detail w/ 2 rounds of compound, and 3M Finesse waxing. Also had an interior hatch that had some damage on it where the hinge connected, so Max worked his magic and fixed that as well. Can not say enough about Max and his crew, really good guy, great work and I had 2 other estimates that were not even close! This boat was originally in South Carolina where bottom paint is needed since they keep them in the water. The original bottom was yellow gelcoat, so he told us the "most economical route" and that was to go back w/ bottom paint. In trying to get the "Razorback" look, I went black bottom.

Just ordered his bean bags which will be black sides w/ red middle. So I think we will have his colors covered.

Cool, we will be running out of Ship Shoal in 2 weeks if the weather God's play nice, and I have some blackfin spots that we do well. I also have some "hookups" in the industry to some semi-submersibles that advise "when and where" which is a 95 mile run from Grand Calliou Bayou. This boat can make that run easy, I just like it to be calm!

51mph was what I got from her last time she was in the water, but I suspect we will be doing a little better from the 4stroker 300's!
