I find all those treble hooks that come with any Mirrolure.....Top dog, She dog, Catch2000, etc are garbage. I switch them with Mustad treble hooks....

I've had used the VMC "red" vandium. Not a problem rusting or corroding, the may turn color but still in good shape.

I throw them a lot!!! I change the hooks tho.......twitch twitch pause, oh what's that??? A fish??? Ready o take that 2000 off yet? Usually smaller fish, but that work well.......a red will straiten the hooks right out, but I did catch an 8.54 red on one in a tourney with heavier hooks! Good luck with it!

The Mirrodine is one of my favorite baits, it's lighter than a catch 5, it almost suspends. The catch 2000 has a mullet shape, the mirrodine has a pogie shape. Sometimes trout are on pogies. I never could get going with the mirrominno. I agree the hooks are poor.

I love the mirrodine, first time I used one last year, second cast got a 21" red, and the hooks were fine...... But it's one of my "Go To" baits when I want something to suspend. Also looks very good, if yo don't want them send them to me!

Give that man a cigar!
He hit the nail on the head, If the trout are on pogies then the mirrodine is my go to lure.
If they are on mullet ,then the 2000 is my choice.
You don't usually find pogies in the surf.
