Default Snapper Season Dates

June 1st thru July 19th.....that's it!!!
And amberjack is closed during that time......

Think that's for the charter captains?
Charter a snapper trip, and have to schedule another charter for AJ's?

What a freakin joke. I only fish offshore during the summer and to close AJ's during snapper really screws a lot of people. NOAA has no clue what is going on out there. Or maybe they do with ridiculous seasons like this and high gas prices everyone will be selling their boats.

they still think snappers are almost extinct. you cant catch any other species around the rigs anymore the snapper are so thick.

Closing AJ season while red snapper season is open has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard! There is no correlation with the two! What the hell?????

We can't even catch grouper on our platform because of all the snapper.

We caught 6 in 8 minutes on 2 hand lines this afternoon
