Default Fishing around BR

So where are some good places to fish around BR? I will not have a boat at first, so will be limited to bank fishing, but will try and get my hands on a boat as soon as I can, or at least a pirogue (which is what I really want).

I hope we can figure this out. Catfishing the Mississippi River can be hot during the higher water levels in the spring. There are rumors of sac a lait on falling water levels in the basin (Henderson, Whiskey Bay, Ramah), but I haven't figured that out yet. Mixed reports on False River. Nothing really satisfactory yet as far as dependable, year round fishing.

We've been driving to Calcasieu, Grand Isle, and Leeville for dependable salt water fishing. Our next move might be to start figuring out the Causeway or the Rigolets to make for shorter day trips. Let me know if you want to join us sometime, but be aware, we have no clue yet about the freshwater stuff closer to BR. :^(

I'm down for some saltwater action. Don't do much of that around here because I don't really have the means to. My problem will be finding time to fish, because by the time we get set up over there and get a couple of paychecks in, I'm going to be devoting almost all of my time to hunting.
