Default Is pear good for smoking?

I am about to be cutting down a pear tree in my yard. Its not the regular pears, but the canning pears that you cant just pull off and eat. I have heard of people using different fruit wood for smoking meats and was curious if pear could be used.

What I am getting at is when I cut down this tree, anyone that wants the logs can come get them. Otherwise I am just goin to throw it all away.

for this type of pear, it is useless to eat unless you like to can pears............................................. .............I dont like to can pears.

We bought the house from an elderly couple that loved canning. The pears fall all over the ground. I pick up what I can but most start to rott. They stink and attract bugs. I hate it.

Never tried smoking pear.....do you just roll it up or probably better to break up into smaller pieces and smoke out of a pipe.

The pear wood is ready to be picked up for who ever is interested. PM me and I can give you my cell.

And on a side note, cutting down a tree and hauling it all to the road by yourself after already putting in a day at work pretty much sucks.
