My Lowrance HDS GEN 2 died

Has anyone ever dealt with Lowrance on a unit out of warranty! Unit cost a fortune and now it won't turn on and yes it has power to it!

Normally it will cost half the price of a new one to repair out of warranty.

Mine went out this week .. Internal GPS

Spoke with Lowrwnce and it would cost $800 or better to repair so just ordered new one

I agree....but dats how they roll. My HDS 5 crapped out and they wanted 380 to repair it. Bought a raymarine dragonfly instead,like it better than lowrance.

Garmin is the same . . Checked Lowrance, Garmin and hummingbird . . Only Hummingbird had a repair policy . . I had a screen go out . . Sent it to them on a Monday . . It was returned on Saturday . . They updated everything . . How cool is that . .

check out simrads repair policy its pretty good too. I had a problem with the memory card slot, had a new unit a week later.

Lowrance has a two year warranty and they will also work with you on an out of warranty item and give a discount on an upgrade


I gave them my Captain info and my unit info....they would of upgraded me from the HDS8 to the 10 for same price of new 8 but I had to send in the old unit

I just did not have time to wait for all that so I just bought a new one out right.,(unit only)

I called today and I will be getting a new 8 for 715$ I also had the opportunity to upgrade to hds9 touchscreen for 1100 but I didn't want to have to install another mount on my boat! If I fished all the time I would have went with the 9 but since I only get to fish about 8 times a month I figured the 8 will do. Also when my unit quit working it just suddenly went out!
