Dularg Reds and Trout!
Another wet and wild weekend on the DU! Bad storms off the coast on Friday & Saturday forced us to cancel 6 of our 11 boats. Friday morning we dodged the thunderstorms as Richard Mills from MS was down with 3 boats of 12 yr olds from their football team. Capts Josh & Gerald Ellender helped me out with the trip. Although the weather was storming all around us we never had to deal with it and stayed dry most of the day. The young boys had a blast as Capt Josh and I worked over the trout while Capt G chased the reds. The trout were plentiful but most were undersize. We picked at them and caught 64 between the 2 boats. Everything on plastic, double rigged LSU and Cajun Pepper chubs. Not bad and we felt fortunate to get them with the 20 mph winds. Capt G picked away at the reds and blackdrum with the kids having a great time. We were forced back to the lodge around noon as the weather finally closed the door on us. Good luck fishing.
