My grandfather has a red head mounted.

I have always wanted to shoot one but never got the chance.

Congrats on a beautiful bird!

Come to Waco, Texas and you can shot all the redheads you want on the tanks on various ranches. We pass on them most of the time. Also, a ton on the Texas coasts. Never thought of it as a pretty bird.

So what's the moral of this story? Don't post about your first bird that everyone on this site pretty much agrees is a pretty bird, just because they are plentiful somewhere else?

I'm confused.

I think that's the gist of it.

Nice kill! I got one at the taxi right now, gonna deadmount it and hopefully add a bull can and scaup to it one day. Make a diver dead mount. Very pretty and rare if you ask me.

Well things are different over here in Ville Platte, Louisiana. We don't see these things much and I think they're a pretty bird. Don't think I'm the only one.

Very nice looking bird!! Killed my first one last season. Me and salteredneck killed our limit of redheads from one flock this season and ended up with 3 pretty drakes.
