I have a Vizio 32" that I'm fixin' to take to the pasture for a little 'target practice'. It won't solve the problem, but will make me feel better. It's only 2 years old and will not power up. I went to Fixya.com and found you could unplug for a couple of minutes and it would reboot. Now that doesn't even work. Google Viziopowerproblems if y'all want to hear some pizzed off owners. I will never own another one...

Isn't that covered under warranty?

O ok, I always buy the extended warranty on items that should last more than a few years (tv's, game consoles, etc). I had a HDMI port that went out on my tv when it was 3 years old and I was able to get it swapped for free, that was nice.

Hmmm....Vizio is the #1 selling brand on the market, and this is the first time I've heard a complaint about them. I have four Vizios and couldn't be happier. I won't ever buy any overseas junk again as long as they keep making 'em in America.

Do you have to bring to a 'factory certified' repair shop or can the corner T.V. repair shop fix?

If you think that plasmas don't last. The fact of the matter is that you are wrong

When they first came out, plasmas were notorious for short lives. The newer models last as long as LCDs.

LEDs are starting to get popular now, but I'll stick with LCD until they've been out for a few years and have proven themselves.

I had to bring mine to a 'factory certified' shop. I was still living in Delcambre at the time at the closest one was in Opelousas. Wasn't too bad though, my wife went drop it off one day for me when she was off of work and they delivered it to me at work.
