Lucas,

My little man Huey was born at 25 weeks at 2lb 10oz.....scary scary scary!!! He stayed in the NICU for 62 days. In that time, I was there at least 3 times a day and held him for at least 30 minutes every time I went.....Hold him and talk to him, I think my doing that helped him along!!! Modern Medicine is amazing and can work Miracles!! Huey is now 3yrs 3mths and is the biggest kid in his class!!!

If you have any questions about whats going on or if you dont understand what the Dr's and nurses are telling you, you can call..............247-8465.....also, my wifes an RN, I didnt understand alot of what was going on and having someone here to explain it to me helped ALOT!!

Tim,

Thanks for sharing your story with the site. It means a lot to me to hear success stories. It definitely gives me hope in a time when I don't have much. I worry about all these success stories I am hearing. In my negative mind it makes me think there has to be a bad one in there and that could be me. I know that is an irrational way of thinking but that is where I am for now. I know the odds are against us but we are trying our best to stay positive. This is by far the most overwhelming thing I have ever experienced and it is easy to fall deep into desperation with no light at the end of this tunnel. I appreciate all the rest of you for thinking of me and taking time out of your day to pray for us in our time of need. I hope to have successes along the way I can share with you all to show you your thoughts and prayers hit their mark.

W put this scripture on FB the other day and I thought it was a good word of encouragement.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a strong hold in time of trouble. Psalms 16:11

Praying for you guys tonight.

Meduim
I have 2 kids that were premies son was 3lbs 14ozs he is now 24 yrs and daughter was 2lbs 15 ozs she is 18 yrs, we had the same fears as you and your wife and lot of uncertainty. We talked to the nurses daily which they are very helpful and understand your stress. They handle this babies everyday and are good people to talk to about your baby. my wife and I was there daily and we talked and held them when we could. The technology is so much better now, it is unbelieveable what they can do with these little ones. I know it seems like progress is slow coming but believe me it progresses everyday for these babies. Today both of my kids are healthy and are doing great and we sometimes forget what we went thru until we hear of someone that is going thru what we had to endure twice. It does get better hang in there and we are praying for your family to pull thru this. I don't know you but if you need you can send me a private message and we can talk.
