Default Speckmaster series tourney this weekend

Well I went down to the Speckmaster series in a Galveston bay and had some shocking experiences lol. Firs day of tourney we get to our planned location and started a drift we seen storm clouds start to roll in but we also had a blowup on top water we pushed it until we seen the line of boats running so we bailed. As soon as we pulled in Marina lightning hit me through the steering wheel knocked me out. My 15 year old son went into action getting the boat up to dock getting ambulance there and notifying his MOM of course. Anyway I was unconscious for a bit but came out OK. got off the water and rested te rest of the day. Day two we returned to the tournament my son dedicated to fishing top water only I was proud as he pushed putting in a second place finish for my son and a 17th place for me. FCJ boats took great care of me helping with the boat any anything we needed. Have to say I not only got a boat from these guys but get treated like family. The boat performed great covering a lot of unknown waters quickly and in some pretty rough stuff at times. We will be back for the next tourney in the series as my son pushes for a 10k scholarship and I look for a series win.

Glad you are ok. I don't play with lightning. On a side note that pic would make a good meme. Like "doesn't matter, caught trout" or something like that

That's crazy! My kids begged me to go out that day an I wouldn't, lightning can strike far outside of the storm.

Glad you are OK and your new boat isn't blown to pieces, you got a second chance!

It was definitely a crazy day on the water. We were fishing a Ladies Tournament out of Kemah and the storms has us racing back to the launch 4 or 5 times. Our friends were in a boat very close to you when you were struck, so glad you and your son made it out safe.

Yea, we fished it too and got real hairy out there Saturday. when we went for shelter we just got into the no wake zone and that's when the 50-70 mph winds hit. It was tough getting the boat docked up. I heard at the weigh in Saturday that someone got hit by lightning. Glad your ok and will see ya in june for the next one. We were in west bay fishing the pass. Was going to fish East bay and from watching the radar good thing we didn't. Looked like it was worse. Then when we get to the ramp, we backed up to the ramp, and my buddy went to pay 3 police cars came charging in right next to the truck with guns drawn running under the bridge and one running up the hill to the other side.
