Default Need help asap

First of all it might be in the wrong section move if need be, but i know alot of people view this particular one..My boat is taking on water in the HULL...I take the boat out of the water and pull the plug and it just pours...For one I think i need a new auto bilge...but where is it coming from nothing on the bottom, hooked a water hose up to the aerator intake and it comes into the live well and will overflow out of the hole on the side of the boat...checked the lines for any visible problems and nothing I can see...I dont know what else to check...any guidance would be appreciated.....thanks chris..Its a 2002 seafox cc

Finding leaks in a fiberglass boat can be tough. Try putting the plug in and fill the bilge area with water with a garden hose. Check for any visible leaks on the exterior around any thru-hull fittings and the livewell pickup. If you don't see anything there it can be a you know what to find the leak. The aerator pump itself may be damaged causing the leak. Good luck.

do what Montauk17 said and put plug in and fill it in your driveway. My first guess would have been an aerator pump, but check all the thru hull fittings and drain plug.Im sure you checked the obvious?Holes?Cracks?etc.

I filled the bilge up and a few drips but Ill go out fishing at 6 and by three its a gulley washer....im thinking if its not dripping its not enough pressure, but if its in the water the bouyence spelled wrong is more than just 5 gallons of water if that makes since, im thinking about changing the aerator and through hull fitting or putting a cap and go fishing and see if it fills up again...Im lost as a goose on this one...alum. boat was easy this sheet aint..lol.

+1

We fished the CCA redfish challenge and during blast off we beat and banged across some rough stuff. Got to our A spot and realized we were drafting more than normal. We had to constantly run the bilge. Got home and after 4 days of searching we found that our anchor busted a hole in the anchor storage during the beating at blast off. Our Blazer Bay has a "flusher" to clean the anchor well, in return we were constantly getting water into the anchor well, and it was running through the hole into the hull.

Good luck leaks can be overlooked and like a needle in a haystack. Process of elimination

Did you try turning on the livewell pump and checking. I had both of my pumps leaking slow but as soon as I turned one on it was a gusher. Changed both pumps and I fine now. Try plugging through hulls and put it in the water too

Been there done that!!!!!!!

I would put a $100 bill that it is one of the hoses below the floor for the livewell system. Start by making sure the hull is empty, then jack the tounge up and put your plug in. Now, find the drain to the livewell and use a large cork/float and stop it up. Once that drain hole is closed off, go to each drain hole inside the livewell system (depending on how many you have) and put the water hose to it. Don't use a nozzle, just the hose and let water run into each livewell, one at a time. If water is draining out of the livewell, but not out of the thru-hull fitting you stopped up, it should be going into the bildge.

To confirm the water is leaking into the bildge from the livewell, leave the hole for the drain stopped up and remove your boat's plug. If you have water coming out of the hull now, you know for a fact it is a hose/fitting leaking. Thus, the search can begin!

Have several people I have helped fix this problem. One of my buds almost sank his 22' Triton over a $0.50 plastic fitting used to "T" off of one drain hose into another. Hope this helps and let us know what you find!

I had a bass boat that I had the same problem. Found the leak by taking it to a boat launch, opening the back compartment where I could see all the pumps. With the weight of the motor and a person all in the back, you should also be able to notice which direction the water is coming from. Mine was coming from an aerator pump with a bad o-ring. I've heard of a more than a few boats taken on major water because of the pumps or fittings associated with them.
