Me and a freind had a good opening morning in the marsh this weekend.we spent Friday night at a freinds in sulfer,Got up early Saturday morning and headed for the stand.Due to some early morning confusion and a Marsh fire we had to hunt the same stand. As soon as we get in the stand we notice the trail camera was flashing out by the feeders only for daylight to reveal a greedy set of coons. Then around 8:30 a doe stands up at 15 yards.Which was quickly dispatched by my freind with a hollow point 45/70 round right below the ear.Looked like someone knocked that deer down with a sledge hammer.Needless to say it didn't take another step.
later that afternoon i went to the other stand we couldn't find that morning. For the first two hours i could hear nothing but laughter and dogs barking from the get together going on at the edge of the woods finally around 6:00 the noise stops and like clock work the a nice little buck came out for some corn. After waiting about ten minutes to make sure his big brother wasn't around i put the 45/70 hollow point nail in the coffin dropped were he stood.when i got to him i found a nice three point the first buck i ever shot.Needless to say i was happy. And we had the best day of deer hunting i ever had out of fifteen years of deer hunting.Thank you tuffy
