Default power pole installation?

What is the going rate on installation for a power pole? Lake Area quoted me $2400 installed 8' power pole pro.

I know those things only run about a grand. Are they that labor intensive?

They have to pull the motor to install the bracket, & install the hydralics in the back compartment, pretty close to what I paid. Yup, it hurt!

I would assume for that price that it has a remote??? Also, get a price from them minus the install. From what I have heard the only negative thing about Power Poles in the price!

Bounce PowerPole Installation

I just finished the installation of my powerpole. If you have any mechanical inclination at all whatsoever....and I repeat whatsoever, their instructions coupled with the simplistic system make the installation very easy. Seriously!!!!!...the installation was not difficult at all. I opted to mount mine directly to the transom. The holes are above the water line and I think that it looks better than the bracket mount andddd since there is no wood in the transom no rot to worry about. I got the 8' Pro model for ~$1400. What you will find is that the JL Marine has it's dealers locked in on price and they cannot negotiate the price of the pole itself. What can vary is the installation cost and possible options the dealer is willing to throw in.

Good luck.

How long did the install take you? Could you do it by yourself or did you need help?

Default Powerpole Installation

The only help I needed was to help me get it aligned left to right. What I did was decided where I wanted it....marked a hole and drilled it. Attached the pole to the boat and snugged up that one bolt. Moved the pole left to right and got it where I wanted it...and then marked and drilled my second hole. Snugged up that bolt and then said "well, it is where it will be" and drilled the last two holes. After that I was able to everything alone. Total time with me taking extreme caution to keep things clean and make sure that I was doing it properly...~3.5hrs. I cannot stress how easy the install was. If you are able to use a drill, ratchet, and know the basics of 12v systems it is a cinch.

Holler if you have any more questions.
