U shouldn't have any issues where u will be at Johnnie. That's as long as u stay away from Nuevo loredo(way southwest) . Not that u wanna be in loredo either after dark but that's just covering ones ***. I've gotten to know lots of locals that say the same before I moved to hawaii that if u keep your nose clean u should have no issues. We do business from cuero to south of three rivers to cotulla etc. not the first issue....yet and none heard of....

I think most problems happened when everything was new and spread out and pickings were easy. Now.... It's a huge boom and there is a ton of traffic coming in and out at all times of the day and night. No time for sneaky BS. Carry a pistol if u wish as I would think that would be the smart thing to do no matter what the option.... but its safe enough if governed by ones company to not have to.

Spent several years in that exact area, PM me if you have any questions.

PS - You're a long way from the border, not a dangerous place at all. If you don't take into account all the oil field hands down there. Lol

yea the biggest danger in this area is wrecks...tons of over hour truck drivers and roughnecks getting drunk everyday.

2nd biggest risk is having to whip some drunk rig hand cause he thought you was looking at his old lady. Lol, kidding aside, I'd throw one in the console just in case; but I'd give you 100,000:1 odds that you'd never have to break leather, even if you lived there for the rest of your life.

its not bad at all around Gonzales. I've been on a bunch of wells on the Eagle Ford and havent had any problems. Drilled wells in Nixon, Yorktown, Gonzales, Kennedy, Karnes City, and Falls City. I bring my bike to location and ride it all the time on lease roads.

Like it was said, the main trouble is just the amount of people on the road. they got some crazy people driving 60mph on a crappy lease road.
