Excel boats?

I looked real hard at them, just before buying my G3 ... Nice boats, but you loose allot of space with that transom setup...
I also dont care for the "down swept" bow (visions of spearing a wave @ Toledo), but that's just me... They look like a great flooded timber rig when setup with a surface drive... Get one and try it out ! I was dealing with a shop in New Iberia, guy was just getting set up and I had more questions than he had time for... War Eagle was my second favorite to the G3 (both have "up swept bows"), closest dealer is around Monroe which was a deal breaker at the time... Hydro |

K, who them now? Aren't they similar to Xpress? I looked at Aluma Craft CC the other day that was nice.

Google G3 Boats, they have a nice site... They have some that are like the Xpress, but their claim to fame is their Jon Boat line... Any size you could imagine... Not that I want anything bigger, but their 1860 prop tunnel CC with a 90 4-stroke is a sweet rig... Hydro |

1960 Excel
Long time lurker finally a post I can commit on.
I boat an 2011 Excel 1960CC with a 2010 Yamaha 70 2 stroke on it. Rig was used when I bought it. My first thought was there was no way a 70 was gonna plane that big boat, to my surprise it planes in what seems like a boat length and runs 36 on the top end. Apparently there hull design really planes well with little power, boat is rated for a 115 hp. The boat is a great fishing platform, lots of room, stable, nice front deck with front trim controls. Like most other aluminum CC it is not a rough water boat. It drafts very little water. Very well built boat, 125 gauge, longitudinal ribs. comes with a full aluminum floor I know I know I sound like a commercial for Excel boats but I really like mine, to me its a lifetime boat. |

Wed68, do you live around Lake Charles? I saw someone in Moss Bluff I believe Friday that had one that looked really nice but didn't have time to stop and look at it.

Weedeater, I live in Sulphur and I would not call mine nice, its jon boat green, with scratched down the side, I bought it from a company that used in during the BP oil spill, I got a really good deal on it a few years back.
I guess if I am gonna post, I need to update my profile! |
