Default Miami Corp/ "Burns" 6/05/2016

Started fishing around 7:45am til early afternoon. Caught some small bass up to about 1.2 lbs.
The action was slower than it had been my previous two trips. The weather was bluebird skies and a light East wind.
Fished mainly with plastic crawfish (green pumpkin or Okeechobee craw colors) on a 3/0 hook with a split-**** sinker for a little quicker fall.
The grass is really coming into its own out there.

I did the best in the deeper grass near pads, not in the thicker weeds.

Of course, in the marsh, that may mean a depth difference of 1 foot but maybe also a harder bottom.
From what I've gathered, lily pads like to grow in a soft, mud bottom.

Looks good. I haven't been out in about a week so it's about time. I always try to get away from that really thick grass. The front of the marsh is just about grown up solid in a lot of areas.

I hear ya. I tried punching and just ended up irritated. Had a couple of minor blow ups on a Stanley Top Frog but they wouldn't commit (yes, I waited to set the hook).
I ended up way on the east end in what I guess they call Cocaine Lake.
