Default Morning Miami Corp marsh trip 6/30

Went out early this morning with my dad and the fish cooperated. There was a pretty thunderstorm out in the gulf that was lit by the rising sun.

The sunrise was pretty nice too.

They bit pretty consistently til we left a little after noon. By that time, the heat was not playing. Like most marsh trips, the ratio of small fish to keepers was about 3-4 to 1. Sometimes the fish weren't even larger than the bait.

Baits used were paddletails, centipedes, and flukes. Most of the fish were caught near lily pads and weed edges along cuts with good water movement.

Nice fish

They were dark but I think it's more that they were standing up more than the others in the picture. I was trying to make them all fit on my cutting surface. Those marsh bass from that crystal clear water are really dark on top and kinda orange underneath.
